Public Art Traffic Signal Box

In 2019 The City of Hamilton completed a Public Art process to commission temporary art to be installed on City-owned traffic signal cabinets in the Downtown Hamilton Community.

My traffic signal box artwork focuses on informing the viewer through the use of urban and natural landscapes, transforming them into secular contemporary icons that reference sustaining and uplifting experiences. Utilizing printmaking mediums, my work originated from my international studies in Argentina where I took the concept of street corner deities placed in neighbourhoods to symbolize protection and prosperity for their community. My artwork is consistent with the ideas of revitalization, growth and unity that resonate in the use of shrines as communal symbols of hope.
